NFL Week 5

Posted: October 7, 2012 in NFL Gambling

Every day feels like a struggle, win a few and lose a few but can’t pull away. It’s amazing how many bets are decided by a half point. Anyways, starting today with a few 1st half bets:

  • Green Bay -4 (-110) vs. Indianapolis for $55
  • Cleveland +5.5 (-110) vs. NY Giants for $55
  • Kansas City +4 (-120 vs. Baltimore for $60

Trying to pick up some momentum finally after a decent Thursday night. Starting off today with Boston College -7 (-110) vs. Army for $55 and Northwestern +4 (-110) vs. Penn St. for $57.50.

UPDATE (10/6/2012 2:52 PM) РOnto the next wave of games, smelling upset and taking Florida +2.5 (-110) for $55. Also taking Illinois +15 (-110)  for $55.

Still recovering from the Tony Romo debacle on Monday Night that ruined an otherwise successful run in NFL betting last weekend. I think tonight is the week that the Cardinals run ends. St. Louis has played fairly well at home this year and their defense has been quite the surprise to just about everyone. I am not ready to jump on the Cardinals bandwagon for sure yet. Taking St. Louis +.5 (-115) 1st half for $57.50, under 19.5 (-110) 1st half for $55, and St. Louis +2 (-110) full game for $55.

UPDATE (10/4/2012 10:13 PM) – I think there will be a little more scoring this quarter and taking over 17.5 (-110) 2nd half for $55.

Lot of weapons on the field tonight but not expecting a high scoring event. I expect Rob Ryan to dial up the blitz and force Cutler into mistakes that he has been known to make on the road. That being said, taking Dallas -3 (-120) for $60 and under 41.5 (-110) for $55.

UPDATE (10/1/2012 10:01 PM) – If it wasn’t for a ridiculous gift Romo handed to the Bears, both my bets would be looking good. Still think the Cowboys will win this game at home and taking them -3 (-110) 2nd half for $110.

Games start in 10 minutes so I will be brief and to the point. Here is what I am taking at 1 PM:

  • Kansas City +2.5 (-110) vs. San Diego for $55
  • Atlanta -7 (-110) vs. Carolina for $55
  • St. Louis +2.5 (-105) vs. Seattle for $52.50
  • Over 48.5 (-110) New England vs. Buffalo for $55

UPDATE (9/30/2012 2:41 PM) – Mixed bag so far. Taking SF -0.5 (even) vs. NY Jets 2nd half for $50. Also taking New England -4 (-110) vs. Buffalo 2nd half for $110 and Atlanta -3 (-110) 2nd half for $55.

UPDATE 2 (9/30/2012 4:01 PM) – Falcons killing me but doing well elsewhere. At 4 PM, taking Arizona -4 (-120) vs. Miami for $60, under 39 (-110) Arizona vs. Miami for $55, and over 53.5 (-110) Green Bay vs. New Orleans for $55.

UPDATE 3 (9/30/2012 5:50 PM) – Arizona is not looking good but I expect them to make the game more interesting before the game ends. Taking them -3.5 (-110) 2nd half for $110. Also taking over 23 (-110) Denver vs. Oakland 2nd half and over 28 (-110) Green Bay vs. New Orleans for $55 each.

UPDATE 4 (9/30/2012 7:22 PM) – Replacement refs, regular refs… Doesn’t matter for the Green Bay Packers. Hope that doesn’t cost me a 2nd half over! For tonight, taking New York +2.5 (-110) for $55.

Finally out of the red on the season and hoping to stay there. You would think I would have learned my lesson by now after three straight years of slows starts thanks to the ridiculous unpredictability of the early seasons. Anyways, for the early games today taking West Virginia -11 (-110) vs. Baylor and under 65.5 (-110) Arkansas vs. Texas A&M for $55 each. Let’s keep the run going!

UPDATE (9/29/2012 2:09 PM) – The touchdown by Baylor as the 1st half closed certainly hurt my chances to cover but I still feel alright about my under bet. Adding onto it and taking under 32.5 (-110) 2nd half of Arkansas vs. Texas A&M for $55. Check back soon for bets on the next wave of games for the day.

UPDATE 2 (9/29/2012 2:50 PM) – WV is pulling away now up 21 midway through the 3rd. Hoping they hold on. Scoring also has slowed down in the Arkansas game with only 3 points so far halfway through the 3rd. For the next wave of games I am taking:

  • Georgia -7.5 (-105) vs. Tennessee 1st half for $52.5o
  • Clemson -3.5 (-115) vs. BC 1st half for $57.50
  • Clemson -7 (-110) vs. BC for $55
  • Michigan St. -2 (-110) for $55.

UPDATE 3 (9/29/2012 5:31 PM) – Turnovers cost me a 10 point Clemson lead and a 17 point Georgia lead. Oh well. Taking Clemson -3 (-110) 2nd half for $110 and Georgia -7.5 (-115) 2nd half for $57.50.

Taking a 5 game streak into the weekend but first getting in a bet I couldn’t turn down tonight. Taking BYU -12.5 (-120) vs. Hawaii 2nd half for $60. After watching the 1st half of this game and knowing how terrible Hawaii has been this season, I expect BYU to continue pouring it on at home.
